Cooperation with Schools
Masaryk to Schools is a long-standing nationwide educational and literary competition for primary and secondary school students, introducing young people to the life, work and legacy of the first President of Czechoslovakia.
The competition promotes independent critical thinking, civic responsibility and respect for democratic values, and encourages young people to reflect on the importance of freedom, democracy and active citizenship.
Participants submit original works dedicated to the life and ideas of T. G. Masaryk, his collaborators, and the timeless principles that remain relevant in contemporary society. Over nearly two decades, thousands of pupils and students from across the Czech Republic have taken part.
For many years the programme was organised by the Masaryk Democratic Movement. Today the Masaryk International Cultural and Educational Centre continues that tradition, developing, modernising and promoting the competition in order to reach new generations of students and to expand cooperation with schools, institutions and partners.

Collection of the Best Entries
An integral part of the project is the annual Collection of the Best Competition Entries. It recognises the authors' achievements, inspires future participants, and is distributed to schools, libraries and project partners in the Czech Republic and abroad.
